Interoperability is at the core of VoIP deployments. Extensive lab and field-testing form an integral part of the M5T research and development culture.
M5T is active in the industry’s standards setting bodies working hard to define next-generation VoIP specifications to increasingly allow added features, functionality and seamless integration of products and solutions from leading vendors in the IP Telephony industry.
M5T is actively involved with:

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is emerging as the protocol of choice for setting up conferencing, telephony, multimedia and other types of communication sessions on the Internet. SIP may also be used for new types of communications, such as instant messaging and application level mobility across various networks, including wireless, and across user devices. SIP Forum is a non-profit association whose mission is to promote awareness and provide information about the benefits and capabilities that are enabled by SIP.
The V2OIP Quality Alliance is an industry group comprised of vendors, service providers and industry experts that wish to increase the adoption of voice and video over IP by collaborating and providing information leading to the advancement of voice and video over IP quality technologies and implementations.

ZAP Sherbrooke is a non profit organization with the mission to promote free wireless internet access points in the Sherbrooke area.
Their goal is to have the City of Sherbrooke listed as one of the cities offering the highest number of free wireless internet access points to its citizens and visitors in the most popular public areas and commercial buildings.
