|
The M5T MIKEY SAFE component is used to securely exchange keying material in real-time communication scenarios required by security protocols such as Secure RTP (SRTP). It is intended to be used for key exchange between peer-to-peer (P2P), simple one-to-many and small size (interactive) groups.
M5T MIKEY SAFE offers an optimized key management and related security parameter solution for the SRTP security protocol. The M5T MIKEY SAFE complies with RFC 3830 and includes DHHMAC, DHSIGN, PS and PK as key agreement mechanisms. It can be seamlessly integrated with the M5T SRTP product or with any SRTP component from other vendors.
Since the M5T MIKEY SAFE has been designed specifically for low latency, it has been chosen by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) as the preferred solution for key exchange protocols for the next generation of IP communications over cellular networks
