M5T SIP-UA SAFE is an implementation of RFC 3261 – “Session Initiation Protocol” in a C++ framework for building advanced SIP applications. It comes with a full-featured, RFC 4566 – “Session Description Protocol” SDP parser and also with a capabilities manager based on RFC 3264 – “An Offer/Answer Model with SDP”.

Although M5T SIP-UA SAFE has been developed to run within embedded systems with limited amounts of memory and CPU, its high-level interfaces makes it ideal for any kind of client implementation, like softphones, gateways and application servers.

Key Features of the M5T SIP-UA SAFE
Minimized Coding and Integration Time:
Since the SIP stack implements a variety of states for the different services it offers, the application's code integrating the framework is thereby reduced, and so is the developer’s time for this task.
Backward Compatibility:
The stack is able to support multiple versions of different services. This means that it can support different versions of different Internet-Drafts and RFCs. This feature permits customers to properly phase-out the support of older drafts by supporting multiple versions of a service.
Single Instance/Multi-Homed:
Only one stack instance is needed to support multiple User-Agents, which makes it ideal for application server implementations. Moreover, the stack can run on a system that has multiple network interface cards.
Flexible API:
The API offer a high level of flexibility, permitting applications to implement new services with methods and headers that have not yet been directly integrated in the framework, or for that matter, that have not yet been defined or accepted within the IETF.
SIP Features:
The SIP stack also supports the following
  • IPv4, IPv6, single or dual IP stack;
  • UDP, TCP and TLS;

  • A, AAAA, SRV and NAPTR queries
  • Supports sip, sips and tel URI schemes;

  • ENUM resolving for tel URIs;

  • Digest authentication (client and server);

  • Server TLS authentication and mutual TLS authentication

  • As with all M5T Components, M5T SIP-UA SAFE is based on the M5T Framework, which makes it available on a wide range of operating systems. Please see the M5T Framework for supported operating systems.
