The M5T SRTP SAFE component is an implementation of the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) protocol based on RFC 3711. Secure RTP is a profile of the RTP/RTCP protocol to provide authentication, confidentiality and integrity for RTP and RTCP packets. SRTP is suitable for protecting multimedia sessions that use any type of codec by providing secure transport of all packets. The M5T SRTP SAFE component comes with the AES-CM cipher encryption as well as the SHA-1 algorithm for authentication purpose. Moreover, M5T SRTP SAFE can be easily integrated with any cryptographic library provided by any 3rd party vendor as well with any cryptographic hardware engine.
SRTP combined with Secured Key Negotiation and Exchange Mechanism such as MIKEY and ZRTP provides a high level of protection to secure all your VoIP-based communications (Voice / Video / Text)

Strong Security - Simple API
Encryption is done using AES in Counter Mode (AES-CM). The M5T SRTP component supports 128, 192 & 256 bits key length. Authentication is done using the HMAC-SHA1 algorithm. Re-keying is supported using the MKI (length is configurable) or <From, To> mechanisms. Key Derivation is done using the AES-CM cipher suite.

Supports External Cryptographic Library
The M5T SRTP component can be used with the cryptographic algorithms implementation provided by M5T or with any external cryptographic library or hardware cryptographic engine. |
Plug-in Architecture
The M5T SRTP has been designed as a bump-in the stack component making its integration quite easy with M5T RTP SAFE or with any RTP stack from any vendor. |
Highly Portable
M5T SRTP component is available on a wide variety of platforms and can also easily be ported to any architecture. It supports off-the-shelf the TI DSP architecture and is XDAIS compliant. |
Comes with debug tool
M5T SRTP component comes with a command line application that can encrypt and decrypt SRTP packets and captured pcap traces. This is very useful for debugging or for interoperability testing. |
