Key responsabilities
Working in a cutting-edge field, the employee will be called upon to work under the supervision of a senior software designer to analyze and design new functionalities and modifications to one of M5 Technologies' product lines.
The employee will have the chance to hone his or her skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Object-oriented C++ development on embedded Linux platforms;
- Java, Objective-C development on mobile platforms (iOS and Android);
- Protocols related to telephone signaling, such as ISDN, DTMFs, faxes, etc.
- Network management mechanisms that complement a VoIP application, such as HTTP, SNMP, TR-069, etc.
- VoIP-related protocols: SIP, SDP, RTP, IMS, VoLTE, PacketCable 2.0, etc.- IP networks - IPv4, IPv6, UDP, TCP, ports, sockets, and mechanisms such as DNS and DHCP;
- Multithreading and concurrency management;
- Telecommunications-related security mechanisms
- symmetrical and asymmetrical crypto, TLS, PKI, etc.
- Mechanisms for managing voice and video on mobile and PC platforms: codecs, jitter buffering, accoustic echo cancellation, platform interfaces, etc.

Work environment and specific requirements
The employee will work at M5 Technologies' head office in Sherbrooke, as part of a young, dynamic and experienced team in a modern, open-plan environment, using state-of-the-art equipment.

Candidates will demonstrate:

-College or bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another discipline with relevant programming training.
1 to 2 years of experience with several of the following technologies:
- Embedded systems development (e.g., MIPS, ARM, x86, Linux)
- C++ development
- SIP, SDP, RTP protocols
- PacketCable 2.0 eDVA
- Analog voice FXS applications
- SoC, DSP, SLIC, DAA, and DECT components
- International telephony standards such as ITU and ETSI
